We are sad to announce the closure of our beloved Bar Le Clemenceau, a charming English run café-restaurant in the heart of Mouilleron-en-Pareds (Mouilleron-St-Germain.) Owners Ali and Tim Goodgame closed its doors permanently on Friday, 27th September 2019 after a busy night during which many loyal customers stopped in for the last Vendée Chippy's fish and chips event in the popular location.
For five years Tim and Ali have successfully brought locals, expats, and tourists together through beer, conversation and events. Their hospitality and the lively spirit of the bar played an important part in the community far beyond Mouilleron-en-Pareds. In fact, whether you stopped in for an apéro or a cream tea, you could always count on a cacophony of languages at Le Clemenceau.
Ali says: "We have absolutely loved the last 5 years, but after much thought and quite a few tears, we have decided we would like a lifestyle change simply because we would like to spend more time together. It was an incredibly hard decision because we have worked hard to build a great business, but we feel this is the right time for us."
Ali and Tim would also like to thank the people who have worked closely with them over the years.
- Billy & Sarah Bond - for our many Friday nights with La Vendée Chippy
- Sue & Stuart – for organising the Furry Friends Quiz
- Sue Burgess – for her Franglais Conversation Circle
- Jayne – Yoga Groups for the weekly events
- Nicola Goode – Nickeoke for awesome karaoke and dancing parties
- Brenda Valcke (Faucon) – of inthevendee.com and Webservices.Dramatis for website and marketing creativity

Thank you for working with us to create a great bar. Your hard work and contributions have been greatly appreciated.

At inthevendee.com we feel safe to speak for the expat, tourist, and Mouilleron communities and respond with a great big thank you, Ali and Tim, for being the anchor that made us all feel even more at home in the Vendée. We wish you all the very best in your future together! You will be missed!
