COVID-19 Vendée

The Omicron variant is seeing new worldwide action in an attempt to minimize its spreading. The variant has been detected in the Vendée. According to various media reports, Omicron was detected in a person returning from South Africa. The omicron variant is said to be more contagious than the Delta variant but with milder symptoms. The 5th wave(Delta) is larger than the 3rd wave. The virus is circulating especially where non- vaccinated people are in close proximity (e.g. discos, parties…), however it also circulates among vaccinated people though with much milder and sometimes no symptoms. In France, the following measures are being implemented – announced on 06/12/2021: No curfew or lockdown Restaurants: no limitation of customers but must be vigilant about mask/social distancing/ health pass checks.
