Sadly I fear a whole generation and our future is being lost to map reading . Orienteering at shool with an O/S map etc all gone now ! My daughter barely knows her way around town having passed her test last year . With my son ,it's "dad , can i borrow your nav " When I passed , it was out with the maps and off in the car ! you then learned your sense of direction around the country . Maps , I only recently relished the 2008 A4 michelin France as an Xmas gift , there is so much to learn from them. However I also have Tom Tom ( a simple tradesman , not wealthy or posh )and have uploaded new content as well . Its brilliant but only with the foreknowledge of looking at the map first. malcolm e

An extremely well put valid point.......Without the "basics" in anything.......Knowledge becomes a very dangerous possession.

Will be travelling through Rouen tomorrow. So will let you know if that fancy new bridge (art to us engineers) can be used by 4 wheeled vehicles.

Bridge still not open. And the weather is warmer than the UK (today); will that do?
